Any one sell candles and do good?

Question:i have heard of mia bella and gold canyon candles, bith have a start up cost. i would love to do this and i love candles

Answers:
You may do alright at first selling to your family and friends...but then, they have your candles and won't want to be pestered about buying more. If you can get a regular place at a local flea market or something like that, you will have fresh customers. Nothing is worse than having to continually pitch stuff to friends and family. You feel like a pest and they view you as one. So, bottom line is this: have a plan to sell beyond your family and friends.

My sister did a soap business a small out of the home, and we sold at craft fairs. However you may want to look in to a limited liability insurance. Just for the fact if you selling them you should have some type of insurance to cover you. Of course there is getting a small business license which you can get probably under $25 at your local city hall. I think if you have a nice varity of them, what's there not to like? I am sure if you love to do it, you'll do well.
i dont sell them my friend does. i have bought so many from her and they are amazing. she has been with gold canyon candles for around 3 years and she is doing really well. here is the website- im sure they can tell you more: http://www.goldcanyoncandle.com/...

another fun at-home [for the most part] business is mary kay. they sell makeup. my mother did this for about 2 years and we had a lot of fun. here is the link:http://www.marykay.com/

there is also cookie lee [another at-home business]. they sell jewelry. my teacher has been doing this for around 5 years and she really likes doing it. link:http://www.cookielee.com/home.aspx...

i hope you weren't just going for candles lol! if not anything else i would go with gold canyon [vs. mia bella] only because my opinion is the candles are better. hope this helps! ~Good luck!
Hello, I am a distributor for Mia Bella's Candles and I love it. The first place I hit up was my job and they love them. I went through 24 candles in a matter of three days. Yes business may be slow after that initial burst, but that depends on you and your goals. You have to touch all parts of your life (i.e. church, schools. family, friends). At that rate, business in one area may be slow, but will pick up in other areas. Where ever you are, you need to advertise. When you are in the elevator, you need pay attention to who is there. Whenever I go to Target or Walmart, I first head to the candle section and see who is there. I do not force myself on them, but rather give them samples and contact information. Mia Bella's Candles sell themselves for sure. People want a cleanier, healthier environment and it starts with our homes.
