How do you treat bamboo?

Question:freshly cut bamboo needs treated to make furniture.

Answers:
You really need to allow it to dry slowly over the course of a few months. This reduces the chances of cracking which is very common when bamboo is dried too quickly. Horizontal is best, but if you must lay it vertical try to make sure it is flat. Bending it while it is still green into the shape you desire of course will allow it to dry in that shape. After drying and your furniture is built you can either paint it or treat it with a clear coat

Treat it like your first-born.
Lay it down straight or hang it up so that it will dry. You can tell when it dries. I have done this many times.
