Decorating my room help?
Question:im redoing my room. im ending 8th grade and i want something not so kiddish.
-i have posters of like zack effron and orlando bloom&johnny depp linning the walls. along with posters ill keep up there.
-my bed is two mattresses on the floor
-and my clothes are piled ontop of my desk
i am a very artsy and creative person and i would love to do more art but i need a room that inspires me.
i love stuff like a bed in a closet, like stuff that the average person wouldnt dream of doing.
i cant have my room the same way too long, but i need some ideas for the walls, my bed, shelving, closets [[i have two]] and my dask and vanity ect
i could use all the ideas possible
and i also dont have a lot of money...really...practically none. so HELP ME PLEASE!

Try goodwill and garage sales to get some furniture
You could use long boards and cement blocks to create a shelving unit (for books and stuff)
to begin with get organized and clean up the existing mess.do it up the way you feel like but sort it out.
Yay! I love helping people with their room! Soo.. I am very creative too! I know just the thing. Well, lets say your room is rectangular. Keep your posters all over the place. Keep your favorite one on the ceiling so that when you are blue, or mad you can lie on your bed and look up! For art, try making origami stars, and flowers and just making a little mbile on top of your bed or desk. (hanging from the ceiling) For the walls, you can ask your mom and dad, sibling, or friend, to help you paint it! I would call your personality wild and radiant and unique so make your wall the same. add orange, and yellow, and bright green, or maybe hot pink and black! Money doesn't make a room beautiful. its you that does. Your desk should be either in the corner of a room by the window, or by the closets, or by the bed. But it depends on where you like it. Keep your desk neat and clean so you actually know whats on top of it. (unlike me) For your bed, Put it in the middle of the room. Make sure its not too big for your room. if its twin size keep it in the middle. If it is full keep it in the middle or side. if it is queen keep it on the side by a window. Make sure that your mirror is exactly across from your bed so that when you wake up in the morning you can see what you look like! ( i usually do that to laugh at myself) Since your bed is 2 matresses piled up, on the second mattress, put a really cool bed skirt. for your bedding, find something that is all about you, your favorite color, or something. If you can knit, or someone else can, make a really cool quilt to just lay on top for show. (or to use, your decision) Buy a big book shelf if you are into books and put it somewhere in your room. for your closets: if you have two, make the bigger one for your clothes.
Make sure every single peice of clothing is in their because a good room is a neat room. For the second one, (which might have to be smaller, or the same size) make it a personal space. If you can't fit stuff in your drawers, put it in that closet. Or make it like an "all about me space" put a "grade hall of fame" bulletein board in there. put your journals, scrapbooks, and stuff in there. In the corner of your room, put little shelves. On them, you can put your collection, or pictures of you and your friends, and other cool stuff. I have a bird collection and I put it on the lower shelf. Buy a DIGITAL clock to put there. (Dont put a reg. clock because trust me it gets annoying at night) Oh yeah.. and one more neat thing, you can put christmas lights on your ceiling. (Well maybe around like the border) and so when you turn it on, you get billions of little colors! it looks really cool. don't worry about making your room kiddish! i've got winnie the pooh all over my room because that what i love. your room is basically you not anything else. anyway, so i hope this helps! good luck on your cool room!
I was totally poor in college and an art major so I needed drawing room. I bought a hollow core door at the local hardware store-for a 24-36 inch you can get one for 20-35.00. You can use 2 metal file cabinets to hold it up-I used 2 orange crates-or cinder blocks-which you can use to make a bookshelf too with pine shelves inbetween. I sat on a pillow or you could get a thrift stor chair and paint it cool-even take it outside and base coat then splash paint it. my mattress was on the floor. I used a bamboo blind the same width as my bed to go up the wall behind it and then over abit like a canopy. Then I'd switch out picts on it for change. You could paint the wood-also the cinder blocks and have a mod room-or use reds and blacks and whites etc.. Plastic "boxes" or baskets can be cheap at walmart or the dollar store-get those for the "bookshelves" to hold clothes (I'm assuming you don't have a chest of drawers. Sort everything-get rid of junk! Keep your favs. Use your closet to its fullest too- Have fun!
Hi, I would try to solve the colour and texture first, becasue it gives the room its mood. I would go for sponge paint or stripe paint ( maybe similar effect can be done by using newspapers )

I would use some ( 1-2 ) strange pieces ( you will surely find also some not expensive ones ) : mosaic floor lamp, or another expresive piece that will attract the eye . . .
