yes, soviet block appartment, thick stone cracked walls and green paint and broken patched up windows and concrete outerwall, no carpets so there is an echo all the way through everyones apartment,(handy for spying on people)

Trends are just that, trends. Will become,..non trendy in time. Stick with what is acceptable to most people, neutral. Very safe :-)
