Do wall fountains work well?

Question:I've got a blank wall on a cottage I'm building in back of my house. The wall is only 10 feet from the back door and I want to add some interest. Would a wall fountain be good or a trellis and vines better?

Yes go the fountain but don't go too cheap the cheaper ones are usually made from a uncleaned mould and if the fountain is not a smooth finish the water will not run even. I sold fountains for 4 years...

Wall fountains look and sound nice (and good feng shui) but you do need to keep it filled (often daily if its a small one) and it will splash some. Putting up a vine can be messy and encourage pests, but espalier trellises look awesome. How about both? A fountain and some plantings? You can also buy "outdoor art" now--art that can be hosed off--make that wall look like an outdoor garden room!
