Which Shades to go for interiors of Home?
Question:Hi Friends I want to get my house painted from interior. Its already painted in creme color since a long time & now I want it to be redone. I want some suggestions on the shades which I shall go for every room . There are some things which I am looking at:
1) Want different paint in all rooms i.e more colourful
2) Want soothing not eyecatching colors yet beautifully different
3) Dont want those obnoxious carcinogenic fumed paints having chemicals.
My House has
1) 2 Bedrooms
2) 1 Dining room seperating above 2 bedrooms
3) 1 Kitchen
4) 1 Lobby attached to kitchen & seperating a bedroom & kitchen
5) 1 Bathroom connecting above 2 bedrooms & is half covered with tiles
6) Also I want to get doors of my rooms(each & every one painted)
Folks PLZ suggest some good & used color combinations especially for bedrooms which give a soothing effect. I dont want to look very classy & stylish but the home should be decent enough to be differentiated. Also clarify which paints be used

WOW this is a very big question, and without pictures of the layout and the furinture and accessories you already have.. it is hard to give an exact answer.
1. I would survey each room. Take a look around and find a piece of furniture or art that will be the anchor for that room.
For example... You bed is a dark cherry and your linens are lavendar. I would choose a toasted almond. Picking accents in a dark and light brown.
2. There are many in-expensive ways to make your house look very classy... money does not mean you have to sacrifice that. Throw pillows are a great way to introduce another color into the scheme.
3. For places like the living/dining room, decide what your focal point is... a couch, maybe a fireplace.work around that. Dont pick a color that matches your sofa exactly... If your sofa was Dark leather.. i would choose a deep red... If it was Green, I might go with blue to contrast.
I love soothing colors for bedrooms.. chestnut, lavendar, mint, sky ... when I am in those rooms I want to RELAX so I look for calming tones.
In the kitchen again that depends... what color are the cabinets?? what color is the counter or your appliances??
can you consider tile for the backsplash.. and choose a accent color of paint from that? So many diffrent possibilites. its endless.
Also remember if the living room opens to the dining... or kitchen make shure both rooms compliment eachother , to be visually pleasing.
i also like a burnt sienna/ orange color.. in the bath.. Gold knobs and handles.
I prefer wood color to be on the doors... can they be stripped and sanded... theres NOTHING like beautiful wood to accent a room and give it character. On another note... They have this metal... I dont know .. it comes in a sheet. with designs on it... Similar to what you might see on a ceiling in a older home. this stuff can be painted and cut and attached to the " sunken panel part of the door" i have seen this done to a amior used for a entertainment center and then it was painted over with an antique white wash.. ! VERY BEAUTIFUL... I get alot of my ideas from watching the Home and Garden Network...

GOOD LUCK!! Hope I was of some help!
well I like Behr paint, available at Home Depot (you've probably seen it, thanks to those annoying commercials). I really like robin's-egg blue--it is very soft, yet flowing and gentle, especially when paired with a soft cream.
