Is such a shelf possible?
Question:I want to build a shelf sturdy enough to sit my lil' cousins' BIG radio controlled cars on for display. But I want three of them, in the CORNERS of his room. Not a round shelf, but a rectangular shelf, each big enough to hold each specific vehicle. Also, I want them to angle downwards slightly, so you can see more of the car. I have no idea if this is even a feasible idea or if I am just thinking of something impossible. If not corner shelves, is there some way to suspend the cars from the ceiling on a 'swing like' shelf?? I'm picturing what looks exactly like a playground swing, with the car sitting on a rectangle shelf. Crazy? Possible? I really want to do something nice in his room, and put his nice cars on display.

Doable. But triangular shelves will work better in a corner. In any case, adjustable shelf brackets on each wall can provide support. For the slope effect, fasten a piece of 1x2 diagonally so that it will be supported at the wall ends of the shelf standards.
You could do it but might have to "experiment" first. I could see the last part of what you are thinking about but it would look kind of high-tech and modern using cabling. I know nothing about metal, but you would have to use some kind of metal shelf and be able to drill through it for the cabling (which would have to be attached to the ceiling and floor, so it doesn't swing around).
If you do wooden shelves, and angle them down slightly, you would need some kind of lip to the shelf so that the vehicles don't slide off.
