Question:I am going to buy furniture's online at IKEA because there's not a IKEA furniture store around me. The total is $450 and the shipping cost is $200.00. Do you think the shipping is overpriced? I got the bed frame,the matress, 2 bed side table, 1 bookshelf, and one tv shelf. What do you guys think?

I think if you're paying 1/2 the price in furniture as the shipping cost, you haven't saved that much. Plus when you get from IKEA, you have to put it all together, so add hours of your time on top of the shipping.
I'd shop around, and not just at traditional furniture stores, but try the stores where things are "raw" or "unfinished." Another option - find a high school that teaches woodworking and make a deal with the teacher to have the furniture made and you'll pay him or the students. They can learn and earn at the same time.
shipping sounds pretty reasonable...it can be pretty expensive. check shipping prices out on E-bay for these items.
sounds ok really especially when you add the labor to load them unload them plus gas to deliver.
you cant beat convenience, but maybe someone you know has a truck and you can pay him 100 dollars to take you to the store., but it looks like theres no way around it you should do it

It's worth it. Many places nowadays charge for shipping, so even if you didn't buy from IKEA and went somewhere else, you'd still pay for shipping. And this is much better since it's delivered to your door and you bought a lot of stuff. That's considerably cheap when you put the total all together, including the shipping. So go for it and enjoy your new furniture!

I think paying $200 shipping on a $450 purchase is excessive. But, if it's exactly what you want and you'll love it to pieces, then get it.
yes -That is way too high--go to a furniture store and buy your furniture-- never order things like a mattress on- line--Heavy things you never order on- line --sometimes some stores offer ( free shipping.) ask them if they might consider free shipping. Surely there is a mattress store near you and you can hire a pick- truck to bring it home for you. That is way toooooo high for a 450.00 purchase.
