Why is blu-tak blue?
Question:Apart from the obvious name-link, why isn't the 'tak green, yellow, pink, or any other colour?
Is it because of what it's made of?

No - you can get other colours (white-tak etc) but blue-tak is the most well-known name
For the same reason that white- tak is white
only in white light.Blue is the only colour it reflects.
The same reason white-tak is white!!??
(you can get it white you know?)
Guess who doesn't read the postings before adding her own??.. Ok that would be me then...Lol
Sorry for being repetitive
because it was the guy (who invented blu-tac) 's favourite colour! :)
It can be .any colour you like. The question is do you pick the name first or the colour first.Red tack, Green tack,Purple tack, White tack take your pick. The tack can be any colour that suits you.The makers obviously decided that they liked the name of blue tack for the product and coloured it accordingly.
It's got to be the chemicals that make it work. I imagine these days you could make it multi-coloured but why bother? Back when it was first made I imagine it just used the base chemicals which made it blue.
you can get white tak
if it was green it would be green tac...or yellow tac ..etc .its not rocket science !
