I work in a kitchen is polyester safe too wear around hot ovens?

Question:

Answers:
Polyester is not your best choice for 3 reasons. It has a low flash point, it quickly melts to the skin, and for comfort it is not a cool fabric it may restrict air flow and does not absorb perspiration. Think of wrapping yourself in a plastic baggie. Natural fibers are a better choice. Light weight cotton is probably less expensive then silks. Not all silks are the thin shiny material most people think of, some are a nubby fabric with a dull finish. The natural fibers have a higher flash point, burn instead of melt, and are cooler because they don't block air flow and absorb perspiration. Nothing is cool enough working around an oven in the heat but I think you'll like cotton better then poly.

You should wear cotton.
