Put your glasses in a sink of warm water and throw in a couple of denture cleaning tablets!
And don't wash your glasses (and certainly not crystal) in the dishwasher. The soap is very abrasive!
Denture tablets also unclog drains, clean coffee makers, enamel cookware, and are great for cleaning diamonds!
Could be a problem with the water temp. Dishwashers should heat the water to 130 - 140 degrees to dissolve the detergent. If not (and this is with some liquid detergents also) you get a sandblasted effect from granules left undissolved.
try running a load of glasses using just vinegar. sometimes this helps make the glass look clear. if they are already etched from detergent then nothing will help. sorry.
Most problems associated with poor cleaning in dishwashers is related more to a user problem than a mechanical one. You cannot stuff most units with stuff and expect them to work, that is different in commercial machines with 180 degree F. water. First of all the dishwasher should be NEATLY loaded: silverware basket should have forks and spoons pointed down, knives pointed up, NO LARGE POTS AND PANS should be washed in the dishwasher and this includes those big Tupperware salad bowls. The little "tines" on the racks are there so that items can be placed BETWEEN the spaces, not covering up one whole side. Some dishwashers will remove dried on food particles pretty well Most of these are in the $1000+ price range. If you have a standard unit it more closely resembles a dish "rinser". Use a recommended dishwasher detergent and never use standard dishwashing liquid or you will have a video for americas funniest videos show. I also suggest using a drying agent such as Rinse'n Dry. It may help to install an on demand water heater dedicated to the dishwasher although this could set you back some bucks to a plumber.
