Has anyone used Hammerite Paint Smooth Finish 400ml Aerosol Satin Black?
Question:What's it like? Is it quick drying - how quick? and whats the finish like - what exactly is satin - i'm after zero light reflection?
Answers:
Satin finish is duller than Gloss. But Matt is the zero reflection I dont like Aerosols much find them hard to control and get drips. Takes a couple of hours to dry in good conditions. Hammerite is one of the best makes.
Using the aerosol is an expensive way, unless it's for a very small area.
I didn't like it, the nozzle blocked very quickly, the paint dried too quickly, and I found it impossible to clean out.
The finish was 'OK' !
If you want 'zero' reflection, you'd be better using the Matt range.
AND......remember the horrendous cost of the special thinners !
Hammerite is normally touch dry in about 20 minutes and fully dry after 24 hours. If it needs a second coat apply before the 24 hours is up. DONT apply too heavily otherwise it will run, spoiling the finish
Satin is a cross between gloss and matt, if you want zero light reflection then go for a matt finish.
