I want to decorate my room with a minimalistic style, how do I go about it?
Question:I know its a simple way of decorating with less stuff and things. What paint color should I use and what things do I need and how to I place them in my room. like right now i have a regular bed, bookshelf and stuff like that. what type of less furniture should i use. thx!

It only looks good in a big house...an expensive big house that is.
Minimalist styles seem to lend themselves to black and white...with the occasional splash of color. I'd paint the walls white and use black, clean-lined modern furniture. Perhaps a couple of simple oriental style floral prints to brighten the walls and a rug in the same color family.
Ikea is a great resource, they have a showroom, if you are near one of their stores. Also i would suggest searching for images in magazines like Better Homes,Martha Stewart, or Real Simple. And then finding your perfect room and looking for similiar objects and really you can figure out how to put things together in a way that is guaranteed to work. well, you could paint your walls a white and only have a lamp and a matress for furniture. Put everything else on the floor; ie clothes and books.
Nothing more. Look for less.
Trade in your bed for a foam mat, Your bookshelf for some painted/stacked boxes (I'd go with cube shaped about 2 foot, Make them sturdy enough to sit on & use as stools), etc...
MINIMAL
If you have a small room have just a bed and a dresser in there. White walls will make it look larger. You can put color on the sheets, the blanket, the curtains and/or in pictures on the wall. Just make sure you have a place for your dirty clothes (like a bag you can hang in your closet) and a box of some sort (either to be put in the closet, under the bed, or with a lid out in the open) to hid your junk in. Bookshelfs are messy and open, you don't need that.

No clutter. Just the basics. Bedding solid and fluffy pillows large and soft. Furniture should have clean lines Colors should be sharp Like using black and white or dark brown and blue. Black white and red.
