Re-decorating?

Question:I'm re-decorating my room, and want some cool decorating ideas, color schemes, and anything cool.

Like right now, I have pictures all over one wall, and the shiney side of CD's on another. Quarters on my door, and pennies on the frame.

Any Suggestions? I want change.

Answers:
I papered a whole wall in my den with Rolling Stone magazine covers.

Also in my living room I have an old window from a 1920's hotel that I hung on my wall and then did etchings of my children on 2 of the window panes.

new wall colors change everything, don't be shy with your colors! (even though I have white walls)
Sound like you are creative, check out some stencils, collage of pictures you like, change the curtains with scarves draped over the rod
first think of the kind of feeling you wan to create in your room. like if you want a cozy feeling use warmer tones, maybe reds, oranges, browns. if you want a relaxing feeling use cooler tones like pale blues, greens, lilacs etc. if you want a inviting fun feeling use brighter colors etc.
you get where im going with this..
then when you have your main color, add some accent colors for accessories like pillows, picture frames, rugs, lamp shades, window treatments etc.
also the type of lighting can affect the mood: soft lighting = cozier feeling etc.
The success of any decorating scheme depends on how well it suits all the members of your family. To create a décor that you will be happy with, think about what you want and also what you don’t want.
