Keep the walls a lighter color. It will make your room look bigger. You can also use mirrors.
home visions.com. also try sears.com they have cool stuff. have you tried walmart. I know it might not be the coolest place in the world but they carry alot of the same stuff everyone else does for a cheaper price. If I were you I would buy my paint, bean bags, lamps, curtains, picture frames, and the rest of the accessories there. And buy you bed spread somewhere else so you can fit more in your budget.
You can check out some of the rooms shown at this furniture store site (Stanley Furniture).

You can also check out Target for some bedding. I put in a link for one that has purple and blue in it. Look at the PB Teen site for other room ideas.

Good luck and have fun!
I was gonna suggest http://www.target.com but someone beat me 2 it. They have a lot of neat items now adays for teens & so does http://www.walmart.com

Circles & polka dots seem to b in this year. I did a teens rm in mocha br/pinky blue & baby pink w/ those colors also as circles.

We did 2 walls in the circles of different colors. We drew them w/ a pencil & string & thumbtack so u could shorten or lengthen the circle 4 diff. sizes. I did 2 walls in baby pink w/ blue/br circles & the opposite walls in br. stait. That way the circles didn't over power u'r rm.

If u r leaning more towards the blue.. then do 2 of u'r walls blue then u can use purple & pink circles. Then do the opposite 2 walls in one of those colors. U can incorporate the other colors in u'r rm as accents but try not to over do it b/c then u'r rm will look like a circus. U could also incorporate stripes also if u like. Just 1-2" stripes either horiz. or vertical around the rm.. either in the middle.. or offset then put u'r circles around & over the stripes as well.

U can re-do u'r lamps by painting them the colors in u'r rm. Kilz it lst then paint.. if can spray paint. Shade.. u can put fabric over it or cut out circles in the shade & put tissue or cellophane in the colors over it. Or paint the circles on it.

U can make pin up boards IN frames or jst w/ foam board & batting & glue gun & stick on the wall or hang on the wall w/ loops for photos, posters or notes.

U can use different size buttons to put around u'r lamp shade bttm or u'r curtains. I would stay w/ a solid curtain/valance OR stripes to offset the rm. U could make u'r own bed cover. IF u found a soild color say in pink then fabric paint blue & purples circles or stripes on it.

There 's so mch u can do to make it u'r room w/o spending lots of $ then it would leave more for the expensive stuff.

Go to the store... p/u several samples of colors u r interested in & put them on the wall & c if that is what u would like & on different walls.

Have fun!
Hi Megan, I was going to suggest Penney's, because I've seen things in their catalog that looks like what it seems you are looking for. Why don't you try this~get 4 pieces of paper, one for each wall of your room, and draw it out to scale. Get a measuring tape and some graph paper, and use them to draw your room out exactly. Put in all the windows and doors at the exact size, etc. Then when you get it all finished, make you several copies of them, then you can color them in using different colored pencils and try out different designs~stripes, polka dots, swirls, whatever you like! Then pick out which colors & design you like the best. You're at a great age to do this, and it will be fun! You might end up being a designer when you're older:) When it comes time to do the painting..try and do alot of it yourself! It will be a great learning experience, and you will be surprised how proud you will be that YOU did it! ((When you find your fabrics, you can have them mix paint to the identical color for you at Wal-Mart, and it's very inexpensive.)) Check on eBay for your bedding set and curtains~you can find some excellent deals on there, and you may be able to find the exact same sets as you see in some of the stores for a lot less $$$.
Good Luck!! Happy Early Birthday!
There is a "PBTeen" (which is Pottery Barn for Teens...just go to the Pottery Barn website and you should find a link to this) and though it is quite expensive, will give you some great ideas for decorating. They have really unique designs and cool paint techniques that you might like. As for actually buying the comforter and all, I agree that you can't beat Target for great prices on cool things, plus they really mark things down for clearance, so be sure to watch for the red stickers! Also, don't be afraid to look on Ebay...I sell alot of things there and have bought lots, too! Good luck with your room!
