So me and my friend found this room...?
Question:ok so my friend came over yesturday and we found this room in my basement that my parents use for storage. The room is small but its not like a closet or anything. so me and my friend noticed that most of the stuff in the room can be thrown out. so we asked my parents if it would be ok if we cleaned out the room and make the room kind of like a little hang out and they said yes. so we were planning to put a TV, a couch and a table in the room. we are going to paint the floor and walls. i just have a few questions...
What color should we paint the floor/walls?
What stores sell cheap SMALL (up to about $150-200) loveseats?
Or maybe do you think beanbag chairs would work?
btw the wall is stone incase that matters

light colors in small spaces make room look bigger. dark color in small spaces makes room look smaller.
I think it would be cool to mirror a wall and make it look bigger or find an old wood window that is being tosed to the curb because someone is replacing their windows and hang that on the wall (you could decorate the wood around it or put 8x10 pictures in it of the sky etc).
Bean bag chairs would definately work and the best affordable cheap small furniture is IKEA or garage sales/rummage sales.

LIghter, neutral colors on most walls, maybe a bright bold color or stripes on one-- use the color you like. Since it is a hangout, just go wild with paint. Use floor paint for the floor, otherwise it won't hold up at all.
Go to garage sales, you can probably get a cheap loveseat or chairs, though bean bags would work fine too.
choose light colours and not dark ones for the walls, as this will make the room look bigger, and the more you put in the room, it will make it look smaller, try two bean bags as they won't take up to much space and they will be comfortable to sit in. a small tv and table is just what you need, leave one wall with the stone as this creates a different look, but cosy... good luck with it all!
Try craigslist for your loveseat. Tons of cheap and FREE stuff on there!!
