Whats better vinyl our aluminum siding?
Question:
Answers:
vinyl. Aluminum siding can dent, from hail, birds flying too low, ladders leaning against it, etc. Vinyl won't dent, and it doesn't need to be painted. After time, paint on steel or aluminum siding can start to deteriorate and chip. you don't have to paint metal siding near as often as on wood siding, but vinyl siding has the color inside the vinyl. you don't ever have to paint it. which means, maintenance costs and time is reduced to practically zero. you just have to rinse it off once a year.
Also, your heating and cooling costs will be much less, because vinyl is an excellent engergy block.
I'm buying a house right now, and the siding will be the first thing i do, I will have vinyl siding installed within the next year.
Good luck. Now, the hardest part will be picking the color! lol
Vinyl, lasts longer in my opnion.
Aluminum siding dents and should be avoided. Vinyl is final.
Vinyl siding is the way to go. I won't dent, fade, bleed color, or sag.
We have aluminum and I would like vinyl. Our aluminum
fades, dents, white discolored and you cannot get
the siding to even match. Once we get the money,
we will definitely do vinyl..
Neither, actually - vinyl production can be a very toxic process and aluminum doesn't hold up well. The greenest siding is fiber-cement siding. It's as durable as vinyl but nowhere near as toxic, it can look like wood or vinyl and it adds a little bit of insulation and noise reduction to the home.
they both have pros and cons aluminum for instance you can put your grill next to it and it won't melt but on the other hand it will dent and someone might steal it for scrap. on the other hand vinyl siding does melt at low temps that means no grill next to the house it does not dent and no one will steal it for scrap
