If you have dark blue sofas what color is best for the walls?
Question:I need to paint my living room and family room but I'm not sure which color would do best with dark blue sofas. I also want to redo my flooring. Any suggestions on what kind of floors to put in? Thanks!

Use a clean taupe colour or something neutral. Then whatever colour you use, find some cushions of throws in a similar colour. This will continue the flow. As for flooring...pick that first! Always work from the floor up. Laminate flooring is an excellent choice as there are many different colours and it's easy enough to do yourself to save a few $$. If you're after a natural product, have a look at bamboo. Great product, great look and renewable.
You could go with eggshell, taupe,beige anything with the beige color too it. Or either cool blue. Because I am redoing my room and everything in there is blue. Because that is my favorite color. Best floor you can put doen is laminate floors that look like wood floors. Of coursre I have the original hardwood floors. But it all depends on what color you like!
It depends on the rest of your decor ... e.g. lamps, curtains, furniture. My living room is Shabby Chic with mostly Art Deco. I have beige carpet { I hate wooden floors makes the place feel cold }, beige cushions and beige and navy throw, these all have that rugged look. Floral curtains with, yes beige ties and huge tassels. A large Tiffany glass lampshade in the centre of the room with 3 Art Deco chrome lamps.
My walls are wallpapered with a embossed paper which has a beige background and specked with various colours, this then goes with the curtains, the lamps, the carpet and of couse my leather navy blue sofas.
I love wallpaper everytime rather than painted walls. I'm a 48 yr old granmother and have ever only had painted walls once. My 17yr old son painted his bedroom walls last year and very much regrets it, it makes the room feel cold. Wooden floors, no sorry, carpet and rugs every time. Keep the lami tiles in the kitchen where they belong !
