Is it possible to paint a l.c.d. television from silver to white if so what kind of paint would be suitable?

Before you proceed make sure that is what you really want because it is irreversible. Also beware of potential damage to the CHIPS from paint fumes. Check with TV store for comment.
Unplug and cover all vents and seams with tape to ensure nothing gets into the box.
QUick sand the exisitng finish just slightly to roughen the surface, Apply a primer to help ensure good adhesion with the paint. A spray high gloss enamel will be the best option to give you a nice clean look. Spray numerous light coats rather than 1 heavy coat for best results.
Paint it in open air area and leave it in open area until dry.

Nothing in an aerosol can.
Keep ANY liquid away from that, unless you don't want to use it anymore anyway...
There is another option, you can build like a picture frame around it to cover the silver, have the frame painted if you like and even have a picture clothe (either a pre printed or a tie-dye -it-yourself piece) that will drape over the blank screen when not in use. (And roll up with a stick on the bottom to roll it up out of the way when in use.) You can go as hog wild with the frame or as simple. You can either glue it on or have it large enough to be mounted on the wall over the t.v.
