A wallpaper scorer is a great way to start so that whatever you decide to spray, will have more places than just the seams to penetrate. Don't get crazy with the scorer, though. If you're looking to have the walls in 'paintable' condition when you're done, the last thing you want is a bunch of score-marks in the sheet rock or plaster.
My favorite wallpaper remover is vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. It's non-toxic, relatively inexpensive, and is odorless once it dries.
Put hot water in a spray bottle to soften the glue up then peel or scrape it off. If this doesnt work you wil need a commercial wallpaper remover. MY mom has hung it for 30 years and I have helped her plenty and this method works.
There isn't an easy way. Spray a warm mist of water at the seams and let soak a few minutes and try pulling and scraping at the same time. Good luck, glad it's you and not me!
but hot water and a whole lot just spray about one fourth of the room get something like those ice scrapers once the paper is wet and soggy pull down pulling the paper nice and easy off the wall
There are two ways that I know best
1 rent a wall steamer from a rental yard .
2 take a spray bottle or Hudson sprayer and dampen a area to work on let it set a little and scrape off with a 8" tapers knife or what ever you can find as a scraper be careful not to gouge the wall or you will have to repair it as well some times the wall paper is on their so good that it is inevitable that their is going to be repairs.
Fabric softener mixed with equal parts water. Let it soak about 15 or 20 minutes. Works great.
Use a steamer, or just score it and soak with wet sponges. They have wall paper removing liquid, tools, but if your lucky, it a strippable wallpaper. Or not so lucky, and have it put up originally by your Dad ,who was PROFESSIONAL. Wow, What the kind of glue they used back then mus-ta been from outer space. No wonder he designed the Space Shuttle! You'll never get that stuff off!
