What do I use to cover pen, marker, and crayons on the wall, if it shows through many coats of paint?

Question:

Answers:
stain killer or primer both work great

Try pigmented shellac. An example of this is a product called "Killz" which is made by Zinnser. Seems to hide just about anything.
Have you tried "Kilz". It's used as a sealer over old paint. It comes as either a spray or brush on product. I personally like the spray can.
use a primer first. then paint. Paint soaks up like a sponge. The primer will cover and act like a barrier. then paint
Kilz primer will wipe that out. It's what we use to remove grafitti from buildings and walls. And you can put any kind of paint over it after.

If it ever happens again (writing on the wall) before painting over it, first try washing it with liquid TSP which you can buy in any home hardware store. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers will also remove pretty much any ink, including permanent sharpie marker.
Save yourself alot of head aches with using a brush, get an aerosol can of Zinsser "COVER Stain" and lightly spray the areas or you can use the Kilz in a spray can too, I prefer the Zinsser products over any other primer/sealer/stain blocker, Good luck Les the painter
I would use Kilz primer. It is the best.
kilz
