Does anyone know anything about carpet tiles?

Hi, I am a commercial interior designer and we use carpet tiles for many of our clients/jobs.

They come in all different sizes, 12"x12", 18"x18", and can even be rectangular in shape.

No matter how they are installed, you will be able to remove them. Most carpet tiles use a glue on the back of the tile and it acts like a sticker. When you want to remove, you just peel off. Now, your subfloor would either need to be a type of hard flooring or plywood (you can't install carpet tile over carpet).

Carpet tile and Rolled carpet price out to about the same but you will most likely pay a little more beacuse you will want to get extra tiles to replace stained ones.

Go to your local floor covering place and see if they sell any carpet tiles.

Here are a few websites you can look at:

They have the advantage over carpet of being able to be moved around to share the wear-and being able to remove stained ones easily (If they are attached to the underfloor by Velcro strips). They are useful in areas of heavy wear where you require a soft surface underfoot for this reason.
I watched an episode of Trading Spaces where they used carpet tiles and it seemed relatively simple. And they looked awesome!
