How can i decorate my room if I'm going with a harry potter theme?

most dollar stores esp dollar general have some of the action figures set them around, still in thei boxes that is. You can also find LOADS of things on ebay like some house scarves and thing to hang on the wall. You can also depending on what house you like, say Harry's which is burgandy and yell, just use a solid burgandy bed spread and decorate the room....my friend did her sons and it turned out cute...gl
Barnes and Noble has a workshop open until Saturday with hands on suggestions for the Harry Potter theme. You should contact your local store for times. The stores by me are availible for the entire time the store is opened.

Deep purple, black, and gold colors is what I'd suggest.
My friend has done a Harry Potter theme for her daughter and it was fantastic! She painted the walls to look like they were made of the big stones that castles/Hogwarts walls are constructed from!
Basically, paint all the walls a pale beige colour first (shows as the mortar in the end) Let dry fully. Mark out the stones by using low tack masking tape, in horizontal lines around the room then in-between with vertical ones - remember how walls are constructed when you do this bit!
Then get some irregular sponges and stipple all the gaps with two shades of grey - go for an uneven finish. Remove the tape and voila - Hogwarts has arrived! She even made it look like there was a real stone frame around the door and painted the door with big black hinges!
Opulent purples and golds in the soft furnishings will finish the look. You can create a fake 4-poster by attaching battens of wood to the ceiling above the bed with velcro (hook n loop) tape on the outside edge - simlpy sew the other half of the velcro to some strips of fabric (about 6-10 inches for the sides) - Go for floor length widths at each corner - gathering it onto the velcro as you sew it on. then stck it al up!
