I bought a new rug and it sheds, how can I make it stop?

Question:

Answers:
You bought a rug that is made from a staple fiber, rather than a continuous filament. During the manufacturing process, small pieces of fiber that have been cut, stay in the carpet. Vacuuming several times usually will remove them, but occasionally, a carpet keeps shedding. If so, call the store where you bought it. It could be a manufacturing defect. But vacuum it a lot first. It is not your carpet that is falling apart, just extra fibers coming out. Good luck!

turn it over
shave it lightly with a womens razor..that will take the fuzz off without harming it...
Wash it.
vacuum...then repeat like 20x's

seriously...this is what i had to do!
most new carpets do that...eventually after vacooming it a few times it should eventually it will stop
constant vacuuming. New rugs and carpets will shed for a while. If you're not comfortable you can always contact the company you bought the rug from and ask for some tips.
1] vacuum the front
2] vacuum the back
3] vacuum the front
4] etc.,etc., etc.,..
if it keeps up after 2 weeks you should tell the store
