Hanging a Mirror Without screws?
Question:I want to hang a mirror on a drywall without using screws (because of the absence of studs). I tried double-sided tape but it eventually slid off the wall because of the humidity.
any ideas?
thanks

I got these things called "Hercules Hooks" they actually work really well. they were $15 at altmeyers
Unless the mirror is incredibly heavy you can use drywall plugs which are designed to be used in just such a situation.
Depending on the weight, There are several things you can do depending on the application. Are you hanging on Drywall, brick, stone, etc. Go to your local Lowe's Store in to the Hardware dept. by the picture hanging items. 3M Makes an awesome product. Be careful of the weight!! Good Luck
Give it up.
Instead, obtain a wide range of abrasives and polish the wall to mirror finish. It lasts longer.
Really? A wall with NO studs? How can that be? Or do you mean there are no studs close enough to use? That must be what you mean. Anyway, here's a solution:
Get a thin piece of wood -about the same thickness as the mirror or the mirror frame and as wide as the bottom of the mirror. But if the mirror is oval or round, use a section of plywood cut out on one side to match the shape of the mirror. This will be a ledge where the bottom of the mirror will rest. Otherwise the piece of wood can take whatever shape or size you want. Attach the wood to the wall with screws and plastic anchors and counter-sink the screw heads so you can cover them with wood putty. If you expect the mirror to be there for a long time, you might also GLUE the holder in place, being sure to sand away any paint to expose the actuall wall surface. Use gorilla glue or contact cement or "Liquid Nails." Be advised that if later on you may want to take this down, you'll be tearing up some wall if you use the glue method.
Paint or decorate the holder to your taste.
Now use your double-stick tape again, and set the mirror in the holder. The tape will keep the mirror from falling into the room, and the holder will keep it from sliding down the wall.
Done!
