Should I use Artex of plaster?

Question:I have a few areas in my ceiling which are uneven and need fllled in. The celing is Artex but is it best to use plaster and then blend in into the wall?

Answers:
Artex is very 1970s - if you want to improve and update, hire a plasterer and get the ceiling smoothed over.

You don't need to remove the artex - a bonding solution is applied, followed by skimming over with plaster. A good plasterer won't even mess up your walls. Have just had mind done and it was well worth the trouble and expense.

Plaster!! Artex is an abomination.
plaster is easier to apply than artex, i personally would use the plaster you can always buy a textured paint afterwards to recreate the artex pattern in your ceiling good luck with your venture
Artex is old fashioned, you need a lovely smooth ceiling. No swirls or fan patterns in my house, makes it easier to paint too.
