How big a carpet will be for a 42' table?

Question:

Answers:
None of my business, but why carpet a table??

Are you putting the carpet or an area rug under the table?

If so, it will depend on the shape of your table. If your table is square, I would do a 8'-6" square carpet below This is a generous size but will allow you to pull out the chairs and still have them sitting on the carpet.

If your table is round, you would want an 8'-6" diameter carpet.

If your table is oval, that would depend on the other measurement.
