Any ideas for a girl room make-over?
Question:I am 14 years old and have kind of a girly personality. My room is light pink, but I want to redecorate it. I was thinking of painting it light green, but I'm not sure if that's too babyish or not. Any ideas? PS I am a girl. ( :

I am actually remodeling my 14 year old sister-in-law's room. We are doing it blue and lime green.
We are painting the walls white, and putting up color-coordinated wallpaper.
For the windows, we've put up sheer drapes and tied them back with the really cute craft yarn. The yarn is green and blue. (you can find it at any walmart or micheals craft).
We've mod podge'd a wastebasket with blue and lime green colored paper and covered the lamp in blue and lime green craft pom poms.
The bed is a blue comforter, lime green microsuede armrest pillow and striped sheets.
Then just add coordinating furniture. We've made all the furniture wood since we don't want to overdo the theme.
I would HIGHLY recommend you check out "Room Crafts" by American Girl. It is where we got most of our good ideas!
Good luck
I think light green would be a great color. It's cheerful and girly without being over the top. G'luck hunnie
oh light green is brilliant
who said it was to babyish no not at all
its my favourite colour
i think you should decorate your room light green its perfect
ok, first of all there was no need to put the P.S. in there, since your question had "girl" in it, you mentioned that you have a girly personality, and you said your room was pink. I think we knew that you are a girl by now. Anyway, to answer your question, I don't think light green is babyish. Try going for a light green paired with a chocolate brown. That color combination is very "in" right now, and also looks stylish and kind of grown up, but still very girly.
add some cute things like a cute pink phone. or maybe add a pink lamp. i think u should choose a base color and follow on with buying things that color!
Ex:
Pink room with shiny pink comforters and pillows! Throw in a small cute pink rug!
hey! i'm just the same way! as a matter of fact, i was JUST thinking last night about getting a green bes spread. ok, green is SO NOT babyish. (i'm 15) i'd love to have my room light green! but it's already a light blue and i like it just the way it is. so no worries, light green is totally not babyish so you'll be just fine. i'd reccomend a color that is soft and makes you feel relaxed. my room is a light blueish teal and i always feel relaxed when i go in there. good luck! i know how picky us teens can be with their colors...
Green is my favorite color and a light green is a great alternative to pink, you will not get tired of it and can be neutral. Green is a calming soothing color. You can also choose a contrasting/complementary color as an accent such as your favorite pink or a color in the lavender family. Go to your home improvement store and pick up some free color swatches to mix and match and find the right combination for you. Have fun, it's only paint-you can redo if you don't like it.
how about very fancy like princess,
or earthy theme with greeans and blues
or even some light colors like whites , biege, and black...

How weird - I have the same room, same personality, and I want to redecorate it too. There's this cool idea that my friend came up with that I might do for my room. Here it is - paint your room any color you want (for best results, do a black or dark color base). Then splatter on your walls different colors or different shades of the same color. It would be so fun and look so unique. Maybe even put your handprint on it. Ya know, for like memories and stuff. And if you have other people help you, put their handprints on the wall too. The only problem with doing black as you base color is that I don't know what color you'd decorate the rest of your room in. So you should probably use a dark shade of your favorite color, then splatter lighter shades of that color. A neat little twist and so fun to make! Hope I helped!
Instead of repainting everything, pick a second color to go with the pink you have, a green in the same tone as the pink or a brown would be really nice. Paint some accents or a border or a few "blocks" of the coordinating paint that are used as a frame for things you hang up.
You could then also get a pink&2nd color throw and pillows without toally replacing everything. Depending on what type of lamps you have, you could add fringe to the bottom of it with glue and have the fringe be the coordinating color.
my favourite colour is "Mist green" (as used on BSA motorcycles like the 500cc A7). It is light but slightly more on the blue side than the yellow side of green.
For colour-wheel contrasting highlights you can then use a little orange. I did say a little! How about silk flowers?
