Should I have sautillo tile installed and what is the maintenance?

Question:I love the Mexican sautillo tiles. I have a 1200 square foot house. What is an estimate for installation? Is there any reason why I wouldn't want to install it throught the whole house and bathrooms (for visual appeal?) What is the maintenece and do they crack easily? I live in the hot & humid south...thanks!

I had tile everywhere but the bedrooms and loved it. As long as you mop it occasionally there really isn't any maintenance as long as it is sealed. I never had a cracking problem.

The price depends on the retailer. I got a much better deal going to the owner of a private carpet and tile company.less than $4 a square foot installed. Nationally the tile installation costs $11-22 a square foot, but Austin has many craftsmen. Get a few estimates and enjoy.
