Girly gift idea?
Question:My friend is moving into a house next week. She is in college and is moving in with her roommates. She will have her own bedroom and bathroom. What is a good gift I could get her to go in her bathroom or bedroom? Something girly/fun/useful? Something that isn't too expensive. Any input would be great!

Make a gift basket, you can go to a local doller store and find everything you will need. Try something like this: For the bedroom- Get a basket you can get a plain or colored one and fill it with some filler such as tissue-paper, put on top of that a great candle, lighter or matches to light the candle, incense, a picture frame with you and her in it, a nice pen, stationary, and something that is in her room theme like a figurine so that she can put it on a shelf and think of you, all of this can be matched to the color of her choice. Add all of it to the basket and add a funky bow to the handle or side. This in total will cost you about $10 at most and it will be personal, inexpensive and awesome at the same time. For her bathroom do the same thing as the bedroom basket, but fill it with, bath beads, sea salt, a loofah, bubble bath, a face mask, some neat soap (bars with pictures on it to match bathroom), and maybe even some fingernail polish and remover, maybe even a candle or too, add a bow and your done. She will love this, I have done this many times and the possibilities ar endless. You can add whatever you want. Good luck:) The website below might help for a visual reference.
For the bathroom, go to WalMart and get a big fluffy towel, and inside it wrap up a scrubby sponge or loofah, some nice bubble bath, some shower gel, a matching wash cloth, some baby powder, and some body lotion. Put it all in a nice basket. :)
Another thought is to go extremely practical and get a bucket and fill it with a scrubbing brush, some sponges, some bathtub cleanser, some pine-sol, a box of 2000 Flushes, all those kinds of things.
Yet another idea is a Medicine Chest starter kit, just fill a nice box with Tylenol, Midol, a box of tampons, a box of panty liners, some band-aids, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, a package of disposable shavers, some Ivory soap, a tube of toothpaste, etc etc etc.
I made a simple little "bag" for the bathroom. take two washclothes (fold sides in twice so there's a center seam)
put two washclothes together wrap arount a scented soap
tie a ribbon around the washclothes and you can tack a handle of ribbon, papertwist, pearls or chain. It would look
like a little handbag. Then it can be set on a shelf. Scented soap smells pretty (and you'll always have a spare) or it can be taken apart and used if desired.
It can be done to match personality, pastel and flowers for girly, brights and doodads for fun and funky etc

While I love the pampering ideas everyone has suggested, something that every girl needs...
Perhaps try something girly and useful like a new bedroom survival kit.
* Sachets for drawers
* Jewelry organizer
* Under-the-bed storage bags
* Scented candles
* A cute reading lamp
* Neck pillow
etc. you get the idea. You can get all the above and put it in a cute laundry bag for $35 or less if you shop carefully at Target or some of the department clearance sales. It's practical, useful and she will be able to make great use of everything.
