What color should I paint my room?
Question:I don't have any idea so ask away, I love all colors
Answers:
I think it would be cool to paint one wall a very light purple, and the wall across from it cream. Then the other two walls you can stripe them with 1 foot stripes of each color that would look really neat. That is what I want to do with my room. It doesn't have to be light purple it would be any color you choose!
Do a mural.those are fun!! OR you could paint it all one color but paint what looks like a realistic window with a view, attach a curtain rod to the wall & hang real curtains on it. I've seen it in a magazine & it looks awesome.
If you want to do a simple color then it would depend on the color of all your furniture & your bed sheets/spread...it's all gotta compliment each other.
I went with a cream color and here's why. I love all the colors, so I have alot of different colored stuff in my room. If I painted it one color, then I'd have to pick stuff that matched, but the cream color goes with everything. Very light cream, NOT tan.
A light blue with one bright orange wall.
Paint it the same color as the biggest asset in your room.
larges vertical stripes on one wall, with alternating colors. makes room seem taller, if low ceilings.
I would find the color that makes you feel serene, it's your room. Find a peaceful color that inspires you! For me its green for someone else it could be something completely different. Take a trip to a paint store, check out a few magazines, what color inspires you?
if you want to go for the thing of the season then go for a dark colour like chocolate brown and balance it with a really bright colour like pink, you can get wallpaper like this so there's no need to paint, you'll usually find the wallpaper is in a swirly, floral pattern, its really nice!!
Pick something you love - maybe your favorite shirt, or a flower arrangement, or a painting, etc., - that will serve as your "inspiration." Take it (or a picture of it) to the paint store to match colors to the colors your inspiration object has in it. That way you can narrow down the field of possibilities to those that you already know you enjoy. Chances are, once you get them selected and separated from all the other color chips (and you can look at the individual colors that contribute to the overall "look" of your inspiration piece) you will likely appreciate some of those colors more than others. Or, a general theme will start to present itself, like you keep finding yourself drawn to various shades of green, or pink, or something like that. That should tell you what direction to steer your choices in. If not, then you could always go really funky and paint each wall a different color, and the doors and trim each a different color, too. Why not? If you end up hating it, it's pretty easy to do over for the cost of another gallon or two of paint, is all.
Hope this helps.
well i painted mine a darker beige and the wall my bed is against i hand drew squares onto it. then i painted the squares four different shades of brown. Bought brown nitestands and dark brown comforter. Oh and dark brown curtains. Put up a wall decoration that looks like a tic tac toe board. Then I finally bought some two blank canvas, painted then with squares with the same colors for the wall and hodge podged pictures on it..It looks great. it brings out my creativity and inspires me..So if they gives you an idea..
Greens are restful, especially muted ones like sage or moss. Warm colors are more sensual/sexy - red, plum, chocolate, cinnamon, even orange or buttercup yellow. So I guess it depends on what you plan on doing in your room.
