Couch and loveseat, or couch and recliner?
Question:I'm just wondering what your opinion is on some new furniture I'm going to get.I'm on a budget so I can't get all three.would you get a couch and loveseat, or couch and recliner, we are a couple, with no kids, and live in an apartment.
Answers:
well that all depends on when you have people over. If you buy a big enough couch, then get the recliner, too. It also depends on how much living room space you will have. If it were up to me, I'd get the couch and loveseat...that's guaranteed enough space for when people come over.
loveseat. when you have friends over, it will offer more seating.
If you plan to staying in the apartment then consider how much company you have and if a love seat would accommodate more. If there is a chance of moving later on, getting a recliner is better, so you know all your furniture will fit. I had to have surgery and was glad i had the recliner to get in and out of easier, and it helped when after being at my apartment it sold and i had to move. This apartment living room is set up differently and i would have had no room for my love seat. Some things to think about.
No recliner. They are nasty to move, take up too much space, costly, they break, and only good for one person.
I use a couch and love seat in my apartment. I like the name "Love Seat" versus "Recliner." We can sit two on the love seat. It is awkward for a visitor to sit in a recliner.
Happy home and happy decorating.
I think it just depends on how many visitors that you have. If you entertain a lot, I would get the two seater sofa. I have grown to detest the name "loveseat," because of my interior design professor. Plus recliner's have no style, I would encourage you to shop for a complementary club chair or 2. Or two accent chairs. Two seaters are usually not utilized as much as a normal sofa and chairs.
I'd get the couch & recliner (unless you can afford the couch that has built in recliners - then I'd get the couch and the loveseat!)
