How do you get ceramic tile off of a wood floor??

Question:we are getting new flooring and don't know how to get the tile off.
please help. thanks so much.

Answers:
Hammer and chisel.

Hammer and Bolster.
long handled ice scraper should help
Only one way. Break it up and chip it out. Can you just lay the new floor over the old? You have to consider the step into the room, and what it will look like if there is install units in the room.
You are going to lose some of the wood.
By hand, you will lose more, a hammer and bolster will surely leave large splintered chunks missing from you wood. And you may hit your wrist a few times too! If you have an SBS hammer drill, then you put the chisel in it, turn on the hammer but turn off the rotation, this will quickly and cleanly remove the tiles. Use safety eyewear, ceramic = glass... and we can't mend eyes.
