Designer Light Switch/Thermostat?


Question:Hi! I'm looking to purchase a designer light switch for a North American standard.
I wasn't able to find anything except for switch plates; I'm looking to replace the WHOLE switch, not just the cover. Has anybody had any expirience in this?
Also, i'm looking to do the same for the thermostat, does anybody have any expirience buying a designer thermostat, perhaps something with a glowing light?
