Which is the best magazine on Interior decoration and home decor-all in one?
Question:I do not want to subscribe to too many.
Answers:
The magazine of Interior Design is Architectural Digest. It is always full of information, but it is more for design professionals. It's $19.95 for a year's subscription.
Interior Design is also a fabulous magazine, but again, it is a professional magazine and I think it costs about $50 a year to subscribe. I'd pick Architectural Digest before Interior Design.
The magazine with the best "decoration" type information would be Home. Home only costs like 22 bucks for 2 years, and it is well worth it. I cant think of any magazine that I look forward to getting other than Home. Candice Olson contributes to the magazine every month.
Southern Accents is also another good magazine. It's more a reading magazine. That is why I enjoy i so much. However, it is only published 6 times a year. A year is $18.00
Traditional Home is another good magazine and if you sign up now, you get two years for 24 bucks.
If I had to rank the magazines in order of information, layouts, etc it would be:
1. Home
2. Architectural Digest
3. Traditional Home
4. House Beautiful
5. Southern Accents
6. Metropolitan Home
7. Elle Decor
I always go to Books A Million and WalMart and I like to buy design mags. Better Homes and Gardens produces several special interest publications throughout the year.
I like "Country Living," "Better Homes & Gardens," and "Home."
If you prefer more modern decor, you might like "Dwell" or "Metropolitan Home."
I like Architectural Digest. It's very hi-end but has great interior photos of beautiful homes of all styles.
Or pick up a few magazines at a news stand to see what appeals to you, OR visit your local library to browse.
