Is dark red a good color for a kitchen?

I'm going to agree with you and say no is she means to paint the entire kitchen red. I had a friend who decided to paint his kitchen a dark "smurf" blue after asking a girl friend of his about good colors. His kitchen became known as the smurf cave and no one really wanted to hang out there because of the color. The red could potentially cause the same problems unless you manage to break it up with another color or something.
red is a good color 4 any room BUT.. red has a tendency physiological to make u want to eat. So I would keep in either kitchen or DR. Y don't u want red? u can do red walls w/ white cabinets & counter & red accents or if u'r aiming for anthr color... throw that color in w/ u'r accents. Like sm. appliances. White or Black appliances. Or stainless steel would tone it down some & not b so bright if that is what u don't like. Dk br cabinets go well also or blk or stnlss steel .
I'd say it depends on a couple of things,
how dark the red is and how much of the space will be red,
how big the room is,
a small room will look smaller with a dark color,
how you are going to accent the room,
for instance color or chrome,
who spends the most time in the kitchen,
how much do you like her and
how much does she like the color?
If she's your she, you might wonder to yourself, how much you really don't like the idea

I know that's not the same exactly as the semi permanent choice of a color, but the philosophy has worked for us for 27+ years now, and it works both ways.
I had red in my kitchen and I loved it so I think it is a good color!
Red is good for a kitchen or dining room. As stated, it supposedly makes you hungry, and also stimulates conversation.
You could always compromise and bring red in with accessories - window treatments, plates, chair cushions.
i'm getting ready to paint my kitchen red, too, but it's not an eat in kitchen. the color red tends to make you eat more; blue and green tend to make you eat less (colors of my dining room).
my vote is yes to red kitchen!
my kitchen is between the fame and love/relationship area in feng shui so red is the perfect color for my house.
