What is the best way to drywall around a florescent light in ceiling?

Question:I am drywalling the ceiling of my basement and currently have florescent light affixed between the joists. I am looking for any suggestions in regards to removing the light for drywalling or leaving it and cutting around when I am complete.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Answers:
the best way is to take the light fixture down and drywall over the box. Cut a hole in the drywall around the box after you get it up or you can measure carefully and cut the hole prior to putting the drywall up.

Once you have your drywall up and finished, then replace the fixture.

My husband said to take the light down then put it back up after you are done drywalling.. If you do it the other way you will have a headache trying to patch the seams you will be wasting time and money. Happy Drywalling.
