Should i change bedrooms?
Question:so there is an extra bedroom upstairs because it's a 4 bedroom house and we only need 3. In my room, i just got new wood floors a few months ago. They cost about 2000 dollers. I love the look of it but I honestly hate them. I miss carpet. Also, with the wood in my room every sound in the house sounds about 5000 times louder. When the birds chirp outside in the morning, its like an alarm clock because the wood floor makes it sound sooo much louder and when my dad watches tv late at night, it sounds like its on full blast. When someone walks in the house, it sounds like a marching band. You get the point. I am at the point where i need to wear earplugs in my room. I told my mom how i feel and she says i should just move into the extra room over the summer. But the wood floor was soo expencive and my dad might be really upset that he spent all that money (i would feel bad too, im not a spoied brat.) Also i have really pretty walls in my room. Should i move into the new room?
Answers:
try a large area rug under your bed, it will look good and it will also accent your beautifel new floors. also add additional fabrics into your room, heavier curtins, canvis paintings, throw pillows etc. the more fabric you use the more sound can be absorbed.
If it bothers you that much you can get throw rugs done on the floor be each side on the bed. If that don't work,I don't see why not move to a different room. If you sleep better that way. Just explain it to your dad. I'm sure he won't have hurt feelings if you explain to him what you just said to us.
Have you tried putting a rug down or maybe a couple of rugs on the floor to absorb some of the sound? If that doesn't work I would just sit down with your dad and let him know how you feel. You can always tell him you're just trying to keep the new floor looking new :)
