Answers:
wow you sound like me. about 6 months ago me and my fiance decided to start buying items for our apartment in june. we have bought a lot of stuff and i am glad we are prepared. we bought things like
bathroom neccessities: shower curtain, shower linen, shower mat, trash can, cup, toothbrush holder etc.
kitchen: silver ware, plates, cups, pots and pans, cooking mittens, towels, cooking utensils, etc.
bedroom: blankets, decorations, etc.
mainly buy the small things because it adds up trust me. sace the more expensive items like furniture for the end... UNLESS you find a great deal.
HOPE I WAS A HELP!
Besides furniture and bedding?? Bath towels, kitchen towels, cookware, dishes, etc. The rest you can buy when you move.
Just chill Mr. male. Decide how much you will spend on each item, and save that much money. You don't want a whole house full of furniture to store and move. You know what you need, look around your house now, and notice what you use. When you do buy, see how many things you can buy at garage sales, you will love it.
Pots and pans, tupperware, kitchen stuff. You will take your bedding most likley, any old furniture in the house our taking with? If you see a rummag sale or garage sale in the summer that has furniture, pick it up. End tables for the living room, lamps, chairs, tables. You can find lots if you keep your eyes open. Think of what you have now, think of a empty house and what you will need on a daily basis.
Buy the main things that you will use , like dishes, bedding, towels, microwave, toaster.. and save money fo your furniture, or you'll be making furniture out of pizza boxes ;) The pizza box joke is a long story from my dad, sorry had to say it.
Depends on how much storage space you have. I wouldn't buy furniture until you know what kind pf place you'll be renting and how much space you'll have will determine what size sofa you'll want. I'd start gathering any and all household items. Someone else said think about the things you use living at your parents. Dinnerware, glassware, silverware, cookware, a toaster, coffee maker. Take a good look in your mother's kitchen. You also need towels and bedding. Be frugal and see how much you can gather this summer at yard sales. Don't forget salt & pepper shakers!
