How do you remove vertical blinds?
Question:All I can find is a little tab in the back that slides back and forth but I don't know what it's for. There old and I want to replace them. Please help!
Answers:
they remove from the top of the track - if its top fixed they should be on little hooks inside the track
I just took the whole thing down--rod thing that the blingds hook into was screwed into the molding, so i just unscrewed it and used those holes to put up a curtain rod. Didn't even have to measure or drill or anything! Easy peasy! I originally pulled all of the blinds out of the rod thingy just to make it easier to see what was going on...
When we had vertical blinds over our sliding glass door, they were connected by the little slides you are talking about. I used to disconnect them from the slides every year when I did spring cleaning and clean them. I think you can take the whole frame down if you don't want the blinds at all. That's what I would do, and put up a curtain rod or whatever window treatment you like. If you want to keep the verticals, and just replace them.I think you just disconnect them from the top at the little tabs. Hope this helps... :)
Depending how old they are they may just snap into brackets attached to the wall. If they are in the frame of the window or slider check the top of the bracket if its a slider there should be three or four brackets take a knife and put it in between and push down. A window should have three or so.
