Installing a towel rack on the wall. How high should it be from the floor?
Question:
Answers:
about waist level, so it's easy to reach.
Towel racks are generally 5 feet from the floor.
That is unless any of the below apply to your household:
1. There will be people (or kids) who might not be able to reach.
2. You have a realllllyyyy long towels, in which case make it 12 feet from the floor. :D
Mine is at 5 1/2 so kids cant screw it up
5 feet
Yeah, 5 feet is typical, or for those of us who are lazy (and don't want to get a tape out), about shoulder height. However, its your home, so YOU decide how high it should be on the wall. Keep in mind 1) what's below the towel rack (i.e. sink, toilet, etc.), and 2) how long the towels will be on the rack. 3) If you have kids, keep that in mind too. And lastly, please use a stud finder. Drywall "can" hold towel racks ok, but if you have a little tiger like my son, well, let's just say that pulling a towel rack off the wall became a specialty of his!
Average height from floor is generally 50 in.if your in the bathroom.
