Installing vinyle siding?

Question:HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE AN AMETURE (BUT SOMEONE FAMILIAR WITH CONSTRUCTION) TO INSTALL VINLY SIDING on a A Total of 30 linial feet?? Is 200 bucks too much to pay someone to do it

Answers:
If you are talking an exterior 8 or 9 foot wall, you are looking at 240 SF minimum, you'll need at least 2 1/2 squares of siding (that is if you can get the material supply company to "break" a full square, many won't). If you have someone who is willing to provide materials and labor, $200 is a bargain. Too much of a bargain I'm afraid, unless you are supplying the materials and the $200 is a "labor only" price. If this is a labor bid, go with it, it's a more than fair price.

It's not difficult to install siding, check out www.lowes.com for instructions.
Not really. there is a lot of cutting and staggering to do in order for it to look right - that takes more time than you think. Are you also having this person install the soffet and facia? $200.00 is a great deal if that too is involved. If siding, soffet and facia are involved I would guess 6-8 hours maybe more depending on the cuts and stagger pattern. Be careful on letting someone install siding that does not know what they are doing though, that is a pretty expensive mistake to make, if it doesn't look like you want it too. Best of Luck!
