Where do i stand if a boundary wall is in the wrong place?
Question:
Answers:
It depends on when the wall was built. If you are in England, and the wall has been there for more than 12 years, then basically the wall becomes the de facto position of the boundary.
The best way to resolve a boundary dispute is by working out a pragmatic solution with your neighbour.
On your side of the wall matey! Or pay a solicitor a stupid amount of money to come a survey the boundary! How did it happen? If your owed land back then by law you have a right to it - It's just prooving it - It should be in your deeds if its property!
That depends on whether everyone else agrees with you or not that it is in the wrong place. If the wall is genuinely in the wrong place, you would need to come to some sort of agreement with your neighbour and have the deeds and all that changed. It depends also on by how much it is out. If its only a small amount, is it worth all the hastle?
first of all check with the land registry, they will have the boundary marked out if the land is registered
Can you give a bit more detail? Who has put it in the wrong place - you or your neighbour? Where is it? What problems is it causing? Will try to help.
