Any creative ideas on how to remove or hide a slight burn mark from carpet?

If it is SLIGHT -that means only the tips of the fibres are singed. So, cut 'em off! No kidding. Carefully, gently, start cutting from the very tip-top, down, until just unburned fibres remain. You may also cut away and area surrounding the scar -to sort of blend it in -a very shallow saucer shape.
If you must cut deeply to get it all, then cut out a portion of carpet from an unseen atrea -like a closet- and glue it in the hole.
Trsut me: I was an installer for many years, and this was one of the tricks of the trade.
put some furniture over it... if it looks ok.. if not, you could put a patterned rug that compliments the room
Darn smokers! I have cut the dark out with my scissors and you cannot see where it was burned.
