Bedroom themes?
Question:I'm 17 years old, and still stuck with the room i designed for myself when i was 13. So as you can imagine, i'm pretty much over my phase of wanna-be punk rock bands and things like that with which i have covered my walls with. Now, im looking for a more chic & fun bedroom theme for my room which i plan to redecorate this summer. any good ideas? thanks alot! [:

before you read any ones suggestions on a theme do this..check out a few design shows and design books...they are great for inspiration..also if you have anything u really love (anything like a random peice of art, jewelry, even like a clock or something) base the room around that...all of that aside these are my suggestions:P
if you want something bold, artsy and cool go with a black ceiling and glossy black floors..do your walls in a black and white patterened wall paper, paint all your trim out in green, have green bedding, use a toupe rug, white sheer curtains and have a red pillow on ur bed with a lot of green accents around the room
if you want something relaxing and subtle go with all but one wall in a beige and do the remaining wall either sage green, pale blue or lavander. do all your trim in a glossy white and have very neutral bedding and a beige rug..have a lot of organic accents, a lot of plants and a lot of green and blue acessories
you could go ultra bohemian with white walls and a pale blue ceiling, use a lot of bold pattered fabrics for bedding and curtains have a lot of natural wood around and have a lot of low seating...have a lot of pillows and a lot of accesories...the weirder the better..also have an antique light fixture if possible
other small suggestions-
-mix antiques and modern stuff
-dont paint all your walls the same colour
-glass acessories always look awesome
-brown and blue look great together
-dont be afraid of wallpaper

You could do a seaside get away. In my guest bedroom I have the top half of my walls an oatmeal color and the bottom half a baby blue. Where the two come together I sponged a very light blue (like white with a tint of blue) to it to make it look like seafoam when the waves wash up on the shore. Alot of people though just do blue walls and all white everything else.
You could also do a rose and sage color scheme. Grown up, feminine. Use the sage on the walls and fine the rose in the fabrics.

I remember when I was first allowed to paint my room I couldn't decide and my two favourite colours were pink and black so what I did was paint one side hot pink and the other black and had a purple lavender straight lightning bolt going through all my cool things like my cd player and posters and vanity was on the black side of the room and all my cute girly trinkets, medals and stuff that I couldn't bare to part with were on the pink side. I have to admit, it didn't last long because it gave me a headache but it was fun to do.
Moroccan? Kind of an India theme...lots of bright rich colors...azure blue, rich maroons, golds, brilliant purples (violet). colored glass accessories, tons of pillows, silky fabrics. Luxury, chic, rich and colorful!
Do an Asian theme do reds greens blacks and browns with Chinese or Japanese accents

these are so amazing and beautiful - if you can't afford the wallpapers / murals you could copy the ideas and paint it yourself. You know, do the eiffel tower in black and white on big canvases - or shoes or whatever and paint your walls the pink - add a black fluffy carpet and a silk pink and black quilt It could be so gorgeous

light apple green ... combination with bed spread of light pink color
get furry white carpet to get the accent
place big mirror to reflect the room bigger...
dont forget hang chic lamp from ceiling down to floor - just for fun..
