I want to redecorate my room, any ideas?
Question:I wan't to go with red, white, and black(mostly red and white).if you have any other color ideas please tell me! My mom won't let me paint my room any dark colors so I was looking for a way to still use those colors, I was thinking white walls with a thick red line around the room towards the top kindof like a border, & red bedding, with white pillows.but then theres no black, I honestly don't know, im not the best decorator..

You could go with white for your bedroom walls and accent it with the other colors. Such as having a red bed covers with black/white throw pillows; or black lamps with red lamp shades or throw rugs in those colors. And add some pictures on the wall in various shades of red or black mixed with red.

you should add a creamy white color and crimson red borders to the door and window(s) if you room has any. :D

Your red stripe sounds like a great idea! Not all the way to the ceiling though.
One way to bring in the black is to paint or cover square canvases (I found some at wal-mart) or maybe even larger peices of plyboard wrapped in a black patterned material.
Tall vertical black wrapped peices could even rest against the wall behind a red mushroom chair or 'reading' chair in a corner.
You might also consider painting the furniture in your room black.
Another easy project would be to find some slick black material to make curtain panels. (FindHomeAnswerss could help if you don't know how to make them. : )
Would your mother let you do a half red half white room although cream and a deepish scarlett are a good choice and add a peaceful contrast or you could consider a rust red color as it's lighter and your mother most likely wouldn't mind 'cause then you could do a thin black trim ;P
Start with the bedding, and you will find it a little easier. The Bed is the most important piece of furniture in the room, so how you design the bed will affect the choices in the rest of the room. Start searching for the bedding, and the rest will fall in to place.
I like using black in the accessories, you could use black picture frames, even paint black squares on the wall just where your pictures will go, as an extra frame. Use Black in the curtain rod, perhaps make your own painting that pulls the colors in. think about creating some texture, get a black bath mat, use it as a shag rug. or use it to create pillows, really cool.
hey! you could go with white and a light pink instead..i mean white walls and a good pink border on the corner lines of the walls and you could paint the front wall with single flowers at a distance(or hearts...whichever suits you...)printed bed sheets of the same combination would be great. dont forget to put lots of mirrors in your room and white light to give your room a big look and use loads of white or crystal bead curtains for a nice sound as well as a great look!

Who said you're not a decorator... the white walls with red bedding is a good idea... black can be added in the accessories like accent pillows they can be black and white to go with the red bedding, and go for patterns if you like... hang some black and white photos on the walls with black frames... choose a nice and suitable window treatment that contain two of these colors or all... you can paint only one wall with dark red, that's a compromise with your mom but then there will be a Strong contrast, so try to balance it on the opposite wall with one of my previous suggestions...

What I would do if I was you is this.. since your mom won't let you paint your room a dark color, paint the walls white (if they're not already). My mom was the same way, so I always had to think of ways to go around her and get what I wanted and make sure she was happy with it too! Find some stencils that you like at the store (walmart, lowes, home depot), use your red and black there. You can do a border around the room, but I wouldn't do too much of a thick one. You can also look for room boarders at the store with red and black in them and use that. Get some fabric and design your own curtians. You can get a red fabric and cut out designs in white and black fabric and have your mom or someone sew them onto the fabric you chose as the main curtian. You can put lace over them, or whatever you want! You can paint some of your old furniture (cheaper than buying new furniture) and you can also make all your bedding too - it's easy and your mom can probably help. You wanna try to do everything yourself (making things, being creative) that way you spend less money. Good luck & I hope I helped!
