Which wainscoting is better? wood wainscoting or plastic?

Question:

Answers:
in my opinion...while i'm sure plastic would last a very long time, it might be easier to clean but also easier to crack or damage. I think wood would have a better resale value for your property. and I think people could tell the difference, esp if it mattered to them. (concerning resale)

I think wood definitely looks better, and with proper stain and finish, can be just as maintenance free.
I think it depends on where you are putting it. I do finish carpentry and that is my main task on the jobs. If you are putting it in say a bathroom or in a room where there is going to be lots of water or humidity, or maybe in a childs room I suggest using plastic, if you are putting it up in your livingroom or dining room and are doing it to improve the look or style of your home or restaurant I suggest using wood. There are several types to choose from including stain grade or already stained or painted. You can color the stain grade any color you like and in the future you can do touch ups whenever necessary.
of course, Wood wainscoting - Oak wainscoting is the best of the best.
If you are going to stain it then of course you need to use wood. If you are going to paint then I don't think you can tell the difference between the real wood and the fake stuff. Most of our house has crown molding. Some wood, some fake and I bet you can't tell which is the real stuff. If you have a high end house, you would want the real deal. Good luck and happy decorating.
Depends on your room - but I think wood is the best one
