Semi Gloss Paint??

Semi-gloss is just a bit shinier than a satin. The steps go something like this:
1) flat
2) eggshell (the finish, not the color)
3) satin
4) semi-gloss
5) gloss
There are standards to say how much sheen a semi-gloss or satin paint has when cured, but manufacturers are not required to follow the standard. It is possible that on manufacturer's satin has more sheen than another's semi-gloss.
The easiest way to explain it is that satin is 1/2 flat 1/2 semi gloss. semi gloss is shinier and easier to wipe than satin, but most people only like the super glossy in baths and maybe in kitchens
Semi gloss cleans well for 10 years you can wipe it off it is the only one I use I have hi traffic in my house and lots of mishaps thank goodness for my semi gloss my builder used flat and we had to repaint in 1 year. My paint is now 4 years old and still looks new! I also used Kilz to prime before painting to get the most out of my paint! Good luck!
