How can i burn my incense in a way where it would smell like the coating and not the wood?

Burn cone incense. It always smells better.
dont let the fire get to the wood and also the incense should be straight up on a 90 degree angle
It helps to put inside a burner, and put it as far away as posible.
When you burn stick incense, you light it, then "blow it out" so it just smolders as it burns, but if it still smells too much like the wood to you, you can get the "cone" type, which is a little inch high cone that is just the "coating" scent part, without a wood core.
Buy a diffuser it smells way better.I have a lavender scent in my bedroom.No smell of anything burning,plus no risk of fire at all.
