Travertine tile repair?
Question:We are in a process of installing travertine tiles throughout the ground floor. I noticed that I already have a tile that is cracked and would like to replace it with a new one but cannot figure out a way to take it out. I tried a hammer, and it didn/t do nothing more than just chipping it on the surface. Any suggestions ?

You simply need to take a chisel to the edge of the tile. Drive the chisel underneath the tile and it will pop up, or at least a big piece of it will. Before setting the new tile scrape up the old mortar with a hand scraper or break it with the chisel too.
Make sure you have a nice clean surface to put the new tile on.
i don't know alot about tiles but if a professional came out and did it and messed up then i would make them come back-out and fix it but i would buy a sharp 1/2 or 1 inch chisel and go around the side of the mortar until its lose then pull it out.
